Hello and thank you for visiting my website. Whether you are an individual in the process of purchasing, financing, or insuring a vessel, or a broker, dealer, or underwriter in search of a surveyor to recommend, I would like to say that this site and my services offer something to everyone.
As an individual with a past career in corporate sales I strive to provide my survey clients with the highest degree of customer service possible.
My business philosophy includes a simple, disciplined, common sense approach to the marine surveying business:
- To stay educated well above and beyond the minimum guidelines set by the Accrediting bodies within our industry. To remain up to date and informed about changes in design, manufacture, & technology within the recreational and commercial marine industry.
- To stay physically fit in order to meet the rigorous daily demands of marine surveying. To ensure the ability to access difficult to reach hull areas and to enable the shifting and removal of hatches, gear and equipment as needed.
- To remain totally accessible via telephone before, during, and after an assignment. To provide the necessary information & support so that my clients can achieve the comfort level needed to make sound and timely decisions.
- To continually realize and ensure that complacency and assumptions have no place in the survey process. To access all reasonably accessible areas and test all functional equipment to the best of my knowledge and training.
- To provide a quick turn around time on all surveys by generating reports on a timely basis and sending them to all involved parties via fax and e-mail as requested.
- To show up on time for all appointments and to call ahead when certain instances arise to the contrary. To remain pleasant, professional and helpful.
My credentials include full accreditation from the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS). I am accredited by The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) in their standards and recommended practices for Yachts and Small Craft and am proud to say that I was one of the first ten surveyors in New York State to receive this designation. I am a USCG licensed captain with a lifetime of experience in the commercial & recreational aspects of the boating industry. I have worked for both private and commercial concerns running passenger vessels and charter boats and have performed several renovations on privately owned vessels.
I am a full time surveyor and a one-man surveying firm. Rest assured that when you hire me I will be the person performing your survey.
